What can we recycle?

Recycling in the lab can be more complicated than at home; have you ever wondering if you should recycle your pipette tip box, that media bottle, or if you should throw clean gloves in the normal or biohazard bin? These questions are essentially one of waste streams - which waste stream is appropriate for your particular item?

As of July 2022, waste streams have been altered at BCH: As of now, ONLY CARDBOARD AND PAPER CAN BE RECYCLED directly at BCH. These need to be thrown in the LARGE GREEN BINS, as any small recycling bin with a liner is discarded as trash. This is obviously not ideal, and something we are working to improve on - but for now, please don’t contaminate the cardboard recycling with anything else.
