Lab representatives from this year’s Freezer Challenge
We are excited to announce that Boston Children’s Hospital Research has been awarded the Top Clinical Organization in the prestigious 2024 My Green Lab and I2SL International Freezer Challenge for the third consecutive year! This global competition recognizes organizations making strides in energy efficiency and sustainability by improving their cold storage management practices. This award was accepted by BCH Green Lab’s Chuck Blanchette at the annual I2SL Conference, this year held in St. Louis.

This year, the Dowling Lab led the charge, earning top honors within our internal competition. They, along with 29 other BCH labs, showcased their commitment to sustainability by optimizing freezer temperatures, defrosting freezers, and properly organizing samples to reduce energy consumption. Collectively, our labs played a crucial role in continuing BCH’s efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and operate more sustainably.
